This month our scripture writing will be about John the Baptist and his teachings. There is so much that seems to be left out of these character scripture writings, but this does give you a glimpse into who these bible folks are. Hopefully it also gives you a desire to learn more about them.

These scripture writings on different people in the Bible are truly just a glimpse at their lives. When I really start looking closely at the people in the bible, it always surprises me how “normal” they are. They haven’t lived perfect lives, and some have even made some mistakes that seem they would never have recovered from that scar on their life. But GOD is bigger than their mistakes –just like God is bigger than our mistakes. True repentance is so important to that healing in our soul and that closeness with the Lord.

Satan loves to remind us of our wrong doings and make us feel unworthy of the Amazing love that God so freely gives. God’s love doesn’t depend on our worthiness. God loves us so much because…well, just because He is God, He IS love. Satan cannot take that away from us so he just tries to blind us to it by reminding us of our faults. He knows if we really truly understood how loved we are, even though we know don’t deserve it, there wouldn’t be ANYTHING that we wouldn’t do for the Lord.

Prayers for us all,,,that we will embrace that love fully and serve the Lord as steadfastly at John the Baptist and remember that this life we live is not about us…its all about Him.
