Failure Isn’t Your Finish Line- Scripture Writing

We live in a time where everyone seems to be sharing all of their accomplishments on social media. Seeing someone’s true reality is a rare thing. I never see social media posts about someone’s failures. Examples include “my kids turned their back on God today” and “I really struggled with life today.” Other examples include “I feel like a total disappointment today.” Some people may say, “I feel alone.” Others believe, “my marriage is really a struggle,” etc. We forget sometimes that EVERYONE has struggles. Sometimes struggles originate from our own failures. Other times, the Lord uses these struggles to build our spiritual muscles. Don’t believe the social media hype that ANYONE has it all together. We are all full of fleshly lusts that war against the soul.

The Bible talks about that in I Peter chapter 2. He is beseeching (asking urgently and fervently) that Christians abstain from fleshly lusts that war against the soul. The more you know about Gods word, the stronger you will be in those battles.

My prayer for you (for us) is that we remember that the ground is level at the cross. When we stumble in this race of life, that we won’t just lay down and let that be the end. That we pick ourselves (and each other) up and keep running with our eyes on the finish line. That we won’t be so intent on watching the progress of others. We must remember that we have everything we need (in God) to finish our own race victoriously. Gods plan for your life ends at the finish line, not with your failures.
